Yorkshire Housing are celebrating the completion of 109 high quality affordable homes in Skipton.
The development on Carleton Road in Skipton was built in partnership with Yorkshire-based developers Termrim construction and was part-funded by Homes England.
Close to the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales, 109 homes have been built in total across a mix of tenures; 48 shared ownership, 32 affordable rent, 25 market sale and four available for market rent.
The development followed ‘passive homes’ principles which incorporates high levels of thermal insulation to floors, roofs and walls - including thermally efficient windows and external doors.
The site has required significant infrastructure works including the construction of a new 13-metre bridge spanning over Eller Beck, creating a new main entrance to the development.
Sian Webster, Director of Development, Assets and Sustainability at Yorkshire Housing said: “We’re delighted to have worked with Termrim with the support of Homes England to create 109 quality homes in Skipton.
“This development has been extremely challenging, including the construction of a new access bridge to the site, COVID restrictions and guidelines, and unprecedented cost inflation.
Although due to these reasons we experienced delays, we are happy to have worked with Termrim to overcome them and deliver a successful scheme in a great location.
This development offers people the chance to have a place they are proud to call home call home in Skipton.”
