Yorkshire Housing recently ran a three-day event in Northstead, Duggleby, which proved to be a huge success with customers.
Customers whose homes will soon benefit from £887,000 in energy efficiency upgrades were invited, giving them a chance to learn more about what’s coming, see demos and ask any burning questions.
Twenty-nine customers attended from the local area. Those who live further away had travel paid for, so no-one who wanted to come missed out on the event.
The event was a collaboration with E.ON UK, 0800 Repair and Q-Bot Ltd who spoke on all things solar panels, air source heat pumps and underfloor insulation. These are upcoming upgrades under Yorkshire Housing’s Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund project which is supported by West Yorkshire Combined Authority and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
Sustainability Lead at Yorkshire Housing, Alexis Durrant, said: “Events like these are a great way to check in with customers and get feedback to make sure we’re always creating #HomesAndPlaces to be proud of.
“At a previous project engagement event, customers told us they wanted battery storage for the solar panels so they could make the most of the free electricity they generate. We’ll now be including that in the install.”
Assistance has been given to customers where needed, including help with decluttering before the upgrades started.
