An investment of £45,000 has been put into a full refurbishment of the community space at Valley View in Glusburn, Craven.
Funded by Yorkshire Housing, the hub has had a new kitchen put in, along with refreshed décor and flooring throughout.
Members of the local community and Yorkshire Housing staff came together for a consultation day to discuss and brainstorm how to better improve and utilise the space.
After gathering all this feedback and with the aim of bringing a fresh look and purpose to the centre, contractors begun their work.
The Valley View community hub will be used as a drop in space for colleagues and for local businesses and community groups to use the rooms for meetings and/or activities.
There are community areas downstairs which will see IT sessions, coffee mornings, exercise classes, and much more to be hosted.
Community Independence Officer Karen McIntyre said: “All people living in the area, whether Yorkshire Housing customers or not, are welcomed into Valley View. It’s now providing a really nice zone for people to come together and meet with neighbours and join in with classes.
“Since the refurbishment, we have re-introduced a weekly local residents’ group where people can meet with others, and we have plans for further opportunities for the community.”
