Yorkshire Housing’s Swarcliffe Project shortlisted for Affordable Housing Award

We’re delighted to announce that our Swarcliffe project has been nominated for "Contractor of the Year" award at the 2023 Affordable Housing Awards

Swarcliffe is an out-of-town social housing development on the north-eastern outskirts of Leeds. It consists of about 4,000 homes, of which 1,277 homes (including 2 sheltered housing schemes for over 55’s) are looked after by us.

Our Swarcliffe team is made up of surveyors, operatives, estate operatives and administration, as well as colleagues who support initiatives and act as community liaison officers. Our responsibilities cover various essential aspects, including repairs and property maintenance, grounds and estate maintenance, void property management, caretaking and cleaning, and tenant and community liaison.

Colleagues from our Swarcliffe team will be among the nominees at the ceremony on Friday 17 November at The Point in Manchester. The awards are a platform to show case and spread learning across the social housing sector in the UK.

Lesley Sharp, Contract Operations Manager at Yorkshire Housing, said:

"Being shortlisted for Contractor of the Year is a huge recognition of the dedication and hard work of our entire team and I couldn’t be more proud of us.

“This nomination highlights our commitment to providing quality housing solutions, as well as our 18-year partnership with Leeds City Council and Yorkshire Transformations Ltd.

“We’re really pleased to be a part of this year's Affordable Housing Awards and look forward to the ceremony. Good luck to all the nominees!”

We want to say a huge congratulations to the team and wish them the very best of luck for the awards. Make sure you follow us on socials to see how the team get on!
