We're on the lookout for eleven new apprentices to join our award-winning apprenticeship programme.
Our latest intake includes a number of trade roles in gas as well as safeguarding, IT, gardening, and insurance positions. Our apprenticeships combine hands on training with studying and usually take between two and four years to complete.
Since we launched our apprenticeship programme in 2007 have trained over 150 apprentices. 70 per cent of our them stay with stay with us, representing 5 per cent of our total workforce – double the target of 2.3 per cent set for public sector organisations.
Kiran Olak, who leads the apprenticeship programme at Yorkshire Housing, said: “We’re keen to give people of any age the opportunity to begin their career in housing and are committed to investing in our future workforce.
“Apprenticeships provide skills for life while earning a wage and gaining a nationally recognised qualification. Most of our apprentices stay with us in permanent roles.
“We’re proud to be known for supporting apprentices to develop their careers and I’m looking forward to welcoming the next intake to Yorkshire Housing later this year.”
Imogen, who joined Yorkshire Housing as an electrical apprentice last year, said: “I chose to join Yorkshire Housing because of how much they care about colleagues and the structure they have in place. They’re very accommodating to everyone and really care about a work life balance.”
