Yorkshire Housing to deliver affordable apartments at Harrogate’s Harlow Hill

Yorkshire Housing has teamed up with housebuilder Charles Church to deliver six new apartments to first-time buyers in Harrogate.

We’ve been handed over the keys at the Harlow Hill Grange development and will make the homes available through shared ownership and rent-to-buy schemes.

For newcomers to the open market, these schemes offer a great opportunity for people and families to get a foot on the property ladder and have a place they’re proud to call home.

Kathryn Gare, Head of Acquisitions at Yorkshire Housing, said:

“We’re extremely proud to play a pivotal role in the delivery of these homes in Harrogate as we know there’s a lack of affordable homes in the area. We’re committed to delivering 8,000 new homes across Yorkshire and this development will help us towards that ambitious aim.”

The six apartments are in addition to 50 more homes at Harlow Hill Grange which are being handed over by Charles Church, which is part of Persimmon Homes, to housing associations, more widely for social rent and discounted sale.

Joel Frank, Land Director for Charles Church Yorkshire, added:

“It’s fantastic to have worked with Yorkshire Housing to help more first-time buyers to get onto the property ladder in Harrogate. We’re proud of our record in supporting local first-time buyers, families and young people to buy their own homes. Shared ownership provides another helpful way for young and first-time buyers to buy their first home.”
